I am a strong person.
I look past my bad qualities because I know this fact about myself well - I am a strong person.
I'm full of will. I don't take shit from anybody. I know how to stand on my own even when I'm by myself. My friends are like this too and that's probably why we're all so bonded. I am a strong person along with strong people.
My beliefs are something that I keep to myself because I know sometimes it just causes problems. But really, when people say "it's rude to discuss religion and politics," why is it rude?
Because people get offended. But why? Some people hate others' preferences. But why? Why is it so bad? Because people make it out to be a bad thing. It was mankind that makes what we are today.
I'm reading a book in English right now. It's called Fahrenheit 451. It's about a world where books are illegal and firemen who instead put out fires, start them to burn said books. Why? Because people believed that if they took away everything that set people apart and force them all to be equal, the world would be a better place.
No, it was not. People became addicted to technology - so much that they referred to the people they saw on the television their "family". Their "family" was all they remembered - they don't even pay attention to their real families, and don't feel any care towards anyone else. Their "family" is all they care about.
Suicide is freely committed, too. Why? Because why live in a world that was totally equal, where nothing would change? What was the point? Ending everything would probably make a more exciting afterlife. Doctors apparently get nine or ten cases of suicide each, every night.
I read and finished the novel, and thought... how horrible. How, how horrible. We're all technology addicted now, but we wouldn't lose our souls for it.
But... even when I think about that, why do certain things get people offended? Are differences like that really important?
Or is it just society overreacting?
I don't know. I just know I like a world of differences, a world where people love their friends, a world where family is what warms the heart, a world where every single person is unique.
I am a strong person.
